Hi Ladies,  

            Hope you all had a great summer and played a lot of tennis.

             It’s time for our annual OWTC meeting.  It will be held in the Garden Center in City Park on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 1 P.M.  Refreshments will be served.  Any changes to the bylaws must be submitted in writing 30 days prior to the meeting.  Send your  proposed changes to Carolyn Kramer (tennisck@cox.net) or call 484-6048.

 As you are all aware our membership has dropped since Katrina.  Our dues are based on a membership of at least 100 members (92 at present) and the shortfall was not covered by dues last year.  We do not want to increase our dues permanently and the executive committee has decided to assess a fee of $10.00 per member this year to cover this shortfall.  We are hoping to quickly increase membership when the new courts are completed (work is in progress) at Marconi Meadows.  Our fundraising efforts with the T-shirts worked well and helped provide additional funds to the club.  If you have any great money raising ideas, please let Carolyn know.

            Dues of $200.00 are due and  must be paid by September 30, 2008.   Dues and assessment  may be paid at the meeting or your check in the amount of $210.00 made payable to OWTC can be mailed to:

            We are planning a fun day for September 12 from 8:45 A.M. to noon.  The cost is $5.00 and you can reach Vyeann Jones at 828-1820 or ihj@bellsouth.net to sign up.  Deadline to sign up is Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
