Game, Set, Match: New Tennis Complex at City Park is a Go
The State of Louisiana has released $3.3 million in funds for the construction
of a new Tennis Complex at City Park. Construction documents for the
complex have been completed and Park officials expect to put the project out to
bid in the next few weeks. Construction could begin as soon as July and is
expected to last for 12 months.
The new tennis complex will feature 26 courts; 16 hard and 10 clay and will be
located in Marconi Meadows just north of Popp’s Fountain. Once the new
clubhouse and tennis courts are completed, the existing courts will be closed
and demolished to make way for continued improvements at the
Park’s Tri-Centennial Place.
City Park CEO, Bob Becker said “We want to thank the Jindal administration for
releasing the funds for the Tennis Complex. Tennis enthusiasts who
call City Park home will soon be playing at the best courts in the metro
area.
